Change to Queensland RSA Accreditation
There have been some substantial changes made to the Liquor Act 1992 in Queensland.
From the 1st of January 2009 Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training is compulsory for all staff members serving alcohol in licensed premises.
All licensees must ensure the following persons have a current training course certificate in RSA:
- the licensee (if an individual)
- approved managers and
- any staff member in the premises who is involved in the service or supply of liquor
Staff members include bartenders, glass collectors, floor hostesses, room service staff.
Staff members employed prior to the 1st January 2009 who hold a Nationally Accredited certificate will need to complete training for an Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) RSA certificate within 18 months - (June 2010).
Staff members employed after 1st January 2009 will be required to complete OLGR RSA training within 30 days.
QHI are approved trainers of OLGR RSA training.
The QHI online RSA course was approved by the OLGR on 15th July 2009.
