Responsible Alcohol Victoria
Responsible Serving of Alcohol Course $95
The Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) course is designed to provide liquor service staff with the knowledge and awareness necessary to responsibly serve alcohol on licensed premises.
Persons who satisfactorily complete the course receive a Responsible Alcohol Victoria RSA certificate.
RSA is compulsory in Victoria for:
The licensee and staff serving liquor in a store with a packaged liquor licence. For example, a supermarket or stand alone bottle shop.
A venue that trades past 1.00am and has amplified music. These venues will attract a condition on the licence stating that licensees can only employ RSA trained staff. Staff usually have a few months after they commence employment to complete the training. Licensees need to read their liquor licence to see whether this applies to them, and if so, how long they have to get staff trained.
New applicants for liquor licences will have to undertake compulsory training prior to the grant of the licence; this training includes RSA.
SECTIONS COVERED INCLUDE:
- Problems associated with excessive consumption

- The question of whose responsibility is RSA
- Facts about alcohol
